Netflix Streaming Gets A Nearly Billion Dollar Boost

Netflix Streaming Gets A Nearly Billion Dollar BoostNetflix streaming via your Wii, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and iPad will get a big boost next month. The internet streaming movie service has struck a deal to bring movies like Iron Man 2 and Star Trek to your consoles.

As part of a $900 million USD deal, Netflix will be permitted to stream movies from film studios Paramount, Lionsgate and MGM. Netflix's deal is part of an arrangement with Epix, the premium cable TV channel launched by those three studios. Paramount, Lionsgate and MGM movies will be available for streaming to Netflix subscribers 90 days after they premiere on Epix.

The latest batch of Hollywood fueled fun will come to your consoles and other Netflix streaming-ready devices starting September 1, when Epix movies begin to roll out.

If you haven't already signed up for Netflix or have been to lazy to get those streaming discs for your PS3 or Wii, this might be a good time!

Marvel on Demand: Free Video

I guess Marvel on Demand is Marvel's attempt at cashing in on the success of Youtube and Hulu by supplying free video for payments from advertisers. There are videos of all types of Marvel merchandise, particularly Marvel cartoons. So if ever you are bored and have 20 min to spare, you can load up one of your episodes of X-Men Evolution, Fantastic Four: World's Greatest Heroes, or better yet, Japanese Spider-Man (WTF?).

Many titles are available for viewing along with trailers from upcoming Marvel movies such as X-Men Origins: Wolverine.
