"Supposedly" Blizzard has hinted that David Wenham (LOTR, 300) will be playing Prince Arthas in the Warcraft movie. I am not 100% sure, but it's on several news websites, and IMDB.
I personally remember Blizzard saying Arthas wouldn't be in the first movie, but who knows, that was a long time ago.
I could definitely see this working though. He plays a good character, and the character he played in Lord of the Rings resembles Arthas.

I don't know how you would tell a warcraft story without arthas. He will probably be in the movie, just not "the lich king" arthas. He will be "prince" arthas before he becomes corrupted.
